In an industry where prices and availability change almost hourly, it is often a challenge just to meet demand. And special requests on short timelines are exceptionally challenging. But this doesn't stop us from trying.

Kokanee Springs Resort, in the Kootenay region of British Columbia, contacted our driver enroute to their construction site on a Friday afternoon, with an urgent request.

One of the 10x10 beams, crucial to the completion of the front entrance to the resort, had gone missing. Grand Opening was 2 days away. Could we find a replacement beam by Sunday?

In the quiet community of Beaverdale, the driver finally managed to locate a small mill operated by some local 'good old boys'. But their log yard was empty.

He was assured that the next "loggin' truck", which turned out to be an old Plymouth station wagon with a refitted boat trailer in tow, was just around the corner.

"Pine do ya?", our driver was asked when the load finally arrived. "Sure", he replied, and the sawyer below commenced carving a perfect 10x10 inch beam.
